SEMI-FINAL GAME LAST WEEK:

It took three overtimes, but the No. 3-ranked Kilgore College Rangers hung on to defeat the No. 14-ranked New Mexico Military Institute Broncos, 37-35, keeping their national championship hopes alive.

The Rangers led NMMI 10-0 at halftime, but the Broncos outscored the Rangers in the third and fourth quarters to send the game into overtime.

With 5:23 left, NMMI quarterback Kieran Myers tossed a 38-yard TD pass to Treyvion Beamon to get within four points of the Rangers, 15-19.

After an unsuccessful KC drive, NMMI got the ball back and scored on a 67-yard TD pass from Myers to  Julius Quinones to put the Broncos ahead of KC, 22-19, with only 1:43 to play in regulation.

The Rangers drove down the field, and kicker Chris Baldazo nailed a 22-yard field goal with 10 seconds left in regulation to tie the game up.

That sent the game to overtime. It was a stalemate through two overtimes, but in the third overtime KC prevailed, winning the first-round playoff game 37-35.
