Keith Browning, who has had a great deal of success coaching at the two-year level, will begin his 6th season at Kilgore College as the Associate Head Coach, Defensive Line Coach and Strength and Conditioning Coordinator. During his tenure at Kilgore, the team has won three SWJCFC Conference Championships and two Region 14 Championships along with multiple NJCAA All-Conference selections including four NJCAA All-American selections on the defensive line. Browning also helped guide Dequinton Osborne to SWJCFC Defensive Player of the Year in 2015 and SWJCFC Conference MVP Sedrick Williams in 2019. Browning began his coaching career at Blinn College (Brenham, TX) where he coached three eventual NFL players and also had an NJCAA All-American selection in six of his seven seasons with the program Including SWJCFC Defensive Player of the Year Jarred Price (DE) in 2008. Browning coached running backs in 2005 and 2006 and was the team’s defensive line coach from 2007 through 2011 and also was in charge of strength and conditioning. Browning helped lead Blinn to five bowl game appearances and won two national championships in the Pilgrims Pride Bowl in 2006 and in the Citizen’s Bank Bowl in 2009 led by QB Cam Newton. After Blinn College, he was running backs coach and tight ends coach at Butler Community College for two seasons which included two Jayhawk Conference Championships and another appearance in the NJCAA National Championship game in the Graphics Edge Bowl in 2012. Under Browning, the Grizzlies had two running backs who were named to the All-Conference team in 2013 and a First team All-Jayhawk Tight End in 2012. Originally from Houston, Browning played football at South Houston High School. After graduating, he attended Howard Payne University in Brownwood, Texas. While there, he was a two-time all-conference selection and was named the conference defensive lineman of the year in 2001. Browning went on to graduate with a degree in Business Administration and minored in Business Management.
