Trinity Valley sweeps Kilgore women, men in doubleheader
Both games were extremely close, but Trinity Valley Community College handed the Rangers and Lady Rangers losses Feb. 11 in Masters Gymnasium.
These games were the first time KC had ever had its games live on ESPN+.
In the women's matchup, the Cardinals and the Lady Rangers exchanged the lead 15 times, but missed free throws and costly turnovers late in the game sealed KC's fate.
Nyla Inmom led all KC players with 14 points. Other Lady Rangers in double figures were Aaliyah Davis (13), Ma'Kaila Lewis (12) and Jermia Green (11). Lewis added 10 rebounds to earn a double double.
In the men's game, KC led by as many as 14 points in the first half, but TVCC stormed back in the second half to take the lead late and hold on for the 76-70 victory.
DaVeon Thomas led all Rangers with 25 points. Joe Manning (15 points) and Terrance Dixon (12 points) were also in double figures.
TVCC's Micah Clark led all scorers with 26 points.
ESPN+ will also be back on campus Feb. 18 to broadcast that day's basketball doubleheader in Masters Gym featuring the women versus Blinn and the men playing TJC (Tipoffs TBD).
