Men, women will play in Region 14 Tournament beginning March 7 in Tyler

The Kilgore College men's and women's basketball teams have qualified to compete in the Region 14 Tournament set for Tuesday-Saturday, March 7-11, at Tyler's Wagstaff Gymnasium.

The tournament is a single-elimination tournament with the champions (men and women) of the tourney earning a seed in the national tournament. The men's national tournament will be in Hutchinson, Kan., set for March 20-25. The women's national tournament will be in Lubbock, set for March 22-27.

Coming off a regular season-ending victory over Paris, the Rangers (6 seed) will face Lamar State-Port Arthur at 8 p.m. Tuesday. KC sits at 19-10 overall and 11-8 in conference play.

The Lady Rangers (also a 6 seed in the upcoming tournament) will face Tyler Junior College at 8 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lady Rangers are also coming off a win with a road win against Panola College in Carthage, 71-64, and will enter the tournament on a three-game winning streak.

All Region 14 Tournament games will be streamed live on the NJCAA Network at no charge with commentary by Manny Almanza and Kenny Smith.
