KC Men's Basketball opens Byrd era with victory over Loyalty Prep

The Robert Byrd era is underway at Kilgore College as the Rangers opened up the season under its new head coach with a 95-33 victory over Loyalty College Prep.

KC led by 15 points at halftime but put together a solid second half to easily handle the Wildcats.

The Rangers were led in scoring by Jamil Muttlib with 26 points and Larry Lyons with 17 points. Other players in double figures were Kaleb Pouncy -- who came off the bench to score 12 -- and Cahmai Crosby with 10.

KC is on the road this weekend facing Southwestern Christian College, but will return to Masters Gym Tuesday, Nov. 7, to play Lone Star College - Tomball.
