The Kilgore College Lady Rangers' first trip to the NJCAA National Tournament in 32 years ended March 27 with a hard-fought 73-63 loss to top-seeded Chipola College in Casper, WY.
Kilgore (24-10) fell behind early, trailing 26-14 after the opening quarter and 39-27 at halftime. But the Lady Rangers showed resilience, trimming the deficit to just seven points (52-45) heading into the fourth quarter before Chipola (31-3) held on for the win.
Jarahle Daniels led the charge for Kilgore with 25 points, five rebounds, four assists and two steals. Nakiyah Allen added 10 points, eight rebounds, and three assists, while Kamari Forrest and Henderson each scored six points. Other scorers were Rhyeli Hendrick (5), Rhianna Battles (4), Madison Bob (3) and Anyla Herbert and Ja'Sani Green with two points each. Bob also had five rebounds.
Despite the loss, the Lady Rangers' return to the national tournament marked a historic season.
