Lady Rangers & Rangers nationally ranked to begin season

Both Kilgore College basketball programs will begin the upcoming season nationally ranked, according to the preseason National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) polls released Oct. 20.

The KC women enter the year at No. 8 after a 24–10 campaign that ended with their first NJCAA National Tournament appearance in 32 years. They were also voted the preseason favorite to win the Region XIV Conference during Media Day in Tyler.

On the men's side, the Rangers debut at No. 25.

Last season, KC advanced in the regional tournament before narrowly falling to eventual national champion Trinity Valley by just three points in the second round.

The Rangers were picked to finish fifth in the conference at last week's media day.

The men open up their season Friday, Oct. 31, at home vs. Loyalty Prep and the Lady Rangers' first game is Nov. 1 at home versus ETBU-JV.
